What if you could say anything to anyone?I would like to invite you to write a letter to be published in a book entitled "Unposted Letters." Your letter can be written to anyone…someone you know, someone you haven't met, even someone who has passed away. The content of your letter should be something you have wanted to say, needed to say, tried to say, couldn't say, or didn't get the chance…ultimately, something that just didn't get said. All of us can think of things we wish we could have said to this person or to that person, but for different reasons we found it difficult, uncomfortable, inappropriate, or impossible. Maybe we lost our nerve. Maybe the timing was wrong. Oftentimes we know it's best to simply keep it to ourselves. Your letter can be an expression of love, anger, hurt, or appreciation…it can be an apology, a thank-you, a confession, a complaint, a regret, an explanation, or just a comment…nothing is off limits. Each letter will be like a message tied to a helium balloon and let go… we know it won't arrive at the door of its intended, but sending it out into the world will be like releasing a burden of silence and gaining a sense of closure or satisfaction. The Unposted Letters Project is a safe place to speak without fear, criticism or consequence. No one will interrupt or judge. It is a place where we can expose all of our feelings and thoughts about anyone, or about ourselves. Whether it's been positive or negative, we can tell someone what they have meant to our life. This is an opportunity to create your own unique page to silently say anything to anyone, in a book that will shout it out loud. The way your letter appears when received is the way it will be scanned and printed, so you control the content and appearance of your letter. Letters should be one page or less, no larger than 8 ˝ x 11. Be anonymous or use first or last names only. Letters addressed to, or signed by someone's full name will not be eligible for publication. Your letter can be typed or handwritten. It can be as plain or as visually creative as you'd like. All letters become property of the Unposted Letters Project. Letters will be published at the discretion of the Unposted Letters Project and its publisher. Send your letter to: The Unposted Letters Project 13947 Royalwood Dr. Fishers, IN 46037-3852 |
